In the February 2013 episode of SmackDown, she played her first match. In the following months, she started appearing in SmackDown Main event events and WWE other shows. Her big victory came in Feb. 2014's Elimination Chamber episode where she defeated AJ Lee and won the Divas Champion title. It was the following week that she faced Lee in a rematch, but did not win the title. Ariana was then matched against Lee in an opportunity to win the Vickie Guerrero Divas Championship Invitational that was also won by Lee. She was along with Naomi Natalya Eva Marie Rosa Mendes, Summer Rae and Summer Rae in July 2014 to take on Nikki Bella with a handicap six-on one match. But, she just appeared on the scene to fight Nikki as well as Naomi. In the following week, she played Naomi at the Battleground ceremony prior to the event. Ariana beat Naomi in this match. In the end, their rivalry began. They took on handicap matches and tag-teams throughout the summer.
